The wedding was perfect. After all the tears and sweat, everything came together beautifully. The tears were mine and the sweat was my husband's. I cried for hour's the night before the wedding. Over anything and mostly over everything. After a not-so-refreshing hour's worth of sleep, I wake up and cry some more at the sight of myself that morning. I throw myself in the car and drive to the location, chain smoking the whole way. Upon my arrival, I demand a bottle of alcohol to calm my nerves and mostly to prevent myself from crying more. Several glasses in, my friend arrived to do my hair and make up. At this point, life was getting better.
Forty-five minutes past eleven a.m., the wedding got underway. Our musician, playing an acoustic guitar, started playing for the five sets of groomsmen and bridesmaids. We also had a flower girl and a feather woman, as well as a ring bearer. The song changed to signal the wedding march and my father and brother began to walked me down the aisle. On the way down, my brother says to me "What's your hurry for? He will wait." This got me laughing instead of crying down the aisle.
Under the archway, I met my soon-to-be husband and his two sisters, who were performing our ceremony. The vows were said and rings exchanged, ending in a kiss. We walked down the aisle once more, this time as husband and wife. My sister-in-law began singing a song for us as we walked back.
There were many pictures to take before we got to meet with our friends and families as husband and wife. Our first dance was to Fade into You, by Mazy Star. We had a belly dancer come out and perform two dances for us. It was great. We ended with feeding cupcakes to each other instead of cake.
It was a simple goodbye to such a wonderful day.
